Having legislated to be net zero by 2050 UK Peel NRE is now looking for ways in which we can meet this target through indigenous sustainable energy generation.

Our energy park concept looks to support not only sustainable energy generation but resource recovery supporting clean growth. It provides a blueprint for how this can be delivered across the UK and beyond.

We are doing this by identifying suitable scalable locations, and, combined with our own expertise, bringing together technology providers, construction partner, operators, and the funding community to delivery investable opportunities.

This allows us to deliver project with both proven technology, but also to support innovation.

Our energy parks will provide the opportunity to sustain employment and skills in existing industry, and provide future opportunities for growth.

We are focussing on areas where this can be directly linked into existing industry as well as domestic customers so that the energy generated can be transported through decentralised grids incorporated into the design of the energy parks that can provide lower cost, lower carbon, secure energy.

Our energy parks will provide the opportunity to sustain employment and skills in existing industry, and provide future opportunities for growth.

Critically, they will also be a key contributor to wider regional and national initiatives to deliver decarbonisation through energy and clean growth.

Our Energy Park at Protos, Cheshire leads the way in low carbon energy and waste management with the deployment of innovative technologies including the UK’s first plastic-to-hydrogen facility, a 50MW windfarm, a 21.5MW biomass plant, a 49MW energy from waste plant in construction and a plastic park blueprint to revolutionise plastic recycling nationwide.
